Community Brotherhood Organization

Thai Pongal celebration was celebrated by the youth group of Community Brotherhood Organization at the organizing office and at the Skanda Kumara temple in Kandasuridugama. Rituals and religious ceremonies related to the festival were also performed there. This is a festival held centering on the sun deity. It is a joyous festival associated with harvesting and thanking the sun for it, and expressing gratitude to all the animals and all the people who helped us live throughout the year, including the cows, as well as the equipment and machinery related to agriculture and trade. This festival is also known as "Makara Sankranti Festival".    

ADRA Sri Lanka and Community Brotherhood Organization organized a two-day training program to empower women for business and life strategies under the Women Led Economic Development Project at Samrudhigama Akkarapanaha Youth and Cultural Center and 25 women participated in this.  

The Local Inter Religious Committee (LIRC) – Negombo and Community Brotherhood Organization organized the World Children's Day celebration under the theme "Respect Diversity, Save Children" on 07 October 2023 at Akkarapanaha Samurdhigama Youth Development and Cultural Centre. About a hundred children belonging to Sinhalese, Muslim and Tamil ethnicities participated in this program and many features were included in this program.     For Full Photo Album - facebook.com    

The bimonthly meeting of the Youth Wing of the Negombo Local Inter Religious Committee was held in Negombo recently under the Action for Religious Coexistence project, which aims to get the youth community of Gampaha district to participate in reconciliation. Sponsored by the Sri Lanka National Peace Council and partnered by the Community Brotherhood Organization.
